French In Motion Celebrates 10 Years of Bridging the Atlantic
A decade of connection, collaboration, and community
On September 29, French in Motion brought together filmmakers, producers, industry professionals, members, partners, alumni, and friends in Brooklyn for a special evening celebrating the organization and the community that has grown around it. Taking place during the 2026 Gotham Week, the celebration was an opportunity to reconnect with longtime friends, welcome new members of the community, and reflect on the work that has brought French and U.S. industry professionals together over the years.
From U.S. & French Connection to our Movie Nights and Democracy on the Screen series, our programs have created opportunities to discover new work, exchange ideas, and build meaningful relationships across the Atlantic.
Our partnership with The Gotham Film & Media Institute has been an important part of that story. Through U.S. & French Connection, we have had the privilege of connecting French filmmakers and projects with the U.S. industry during Gotham Week, and of building relationships that have continued well beyond the program itself.
But what has made French in Motion what it is today is the people behind it: our members, filmmakers, industry colleagues, partners, alumni, and friends who have shown up, shared ideas, opened doors, and helped the community grow. We are deeply grateful to everyone who has been part of the journey — in New York, Los Angeles, Washington, Paris, and far beyond. And to everyone who joined us in Brooklyn to celebrate, thank you for making the evening so special.
Here’s to the next chapter!
