Twentynine Palms Book Festival
We invite you to head to the edge of the Mojave Desert for the Twentynine Palms Book Festival, a three-day celebration of California’s writers, stories, and culture. Presented by Desert General, the festival brings together 100+ authors for 20+ panels, workshops, readings, and book signings across a wide range of genres.
Meet authors including U.S. Army Lt. Colonel John J. McBrearty and music journalist Cary Baker, and explore conversations ranging from Imagining Other Worlds: Writing Fantasy, Science Fiction & Horror to Indigenous Stories from Page to Screen: Rewriting the West.
Hollywood Meets the Desert is a special industry component of the Twentynine Palms Book Festival, November 13–15, 2026, in collaboration with the upcoming Joshua Tree Film Festival - created to connect producers and filmmakers with authors, rights holders and compelling stories with screen potential.
